14th International Field Days in Tanzania

On 21 & 22 January, Rijk Zwaan Sub‑Saharan Africa welcomed growers and partners to the 14th edition of our annual International Field Days in Tanzania. Participants from ten different countries joined us, creating a vibrant and diverse environment for knowledge sharing and regional collaboration.

More than 100 growers and collaboration partners from East, West and Southern Africa visited our Afrisem breeding station in Arusha. The Demo Days offered an inspiring opportunity to explore our latest varieties, exchange practical insights and strengthen partnerships across the continent.

Sharing knowledge, sparking conversations

Throughout the week, visitors engaged in lively discussions with our teams and fellow growers. From successful cultivation experiences to exchange of valuable lessons, the event created space for open dialogue and hands‑on learning, reflecting our dedication to supporting growers with relevant technical knowledge.

Breeding in Africa for Africa

Our mission, Breeding in Africa for Africa, guided the programme. It underlines our long‑term commitment to:

  • developing varieties tailored to local growing conditions,

  • supporting sustainable business growth through knowledge sharing, and

  • collaborating to build strong, reliable fresh produce markets across the region.

Thank you for joining us

We are grateful to all growers and partners who travelled to Arusha to participate. Your expertise, questions and perspectives made this edition of Demo Days especially valuable. Together, we continue moving freshly forward, improving access to healthy and high‑quality vegetables for communities across Africa.
