Erta Ale RZ is a fresh market hot pepper variety selected for its vigour and disease resistance combined with high production. The fruits are conical, shaped between a fresno and a serrano type, 10 – 13 cm long and 2,5 to 3,5 cm wide. The fruits are thick walled with a dark green colour. Pungency is up to 30 000 SHU. The strong plant combined with the wide resistance pattern make Erta Ale RZ a very robust variety, especially suited to markets such as Ethiopia.
